Mount Kailash is a great adventure in history, in landscape and in the faiths of Asia. Its amazing structure and the atmosphere has great ambience value ever found on earth. In the heart of the highest mountains on earth, Mount Kailash rises to an altitude of 6,714 meters, and is one of the most elegant and entrancing peaks in Tibet. 3 days trek around Mt Kailash comprising with 3 high passes is another most exhilarating part of the trip.
Sacred Lake Manasarovar (4588m) is located in between Mt. Kailash (6714 m) and the Gurla Mandhata Range (Memo Nani – 7694m). For Hindus, it floats beneath the shadow of holy Kailash and was created to show the omnipotence of Brahma’s mind (manas). Tibetans know it as Maphan Tso “the Unconquerable Lake”. For many, this is holiest lake in Asia.

Mt KAILASH & MANASAROVER TOUR - 10 Days
Day 01:
Drive Kathmandu – Kerong (Nepal Tibet Border)
We drive from Kathmandu to Nepal Tibet border along a scenic highway. After immigration formalities at the border, our Tibetan Guide and Driver will join with us and escort you forward. After a briefing on trips, we drive to lodge in Kerong and O/N at Guest House.
Day 02:
Rest Day in Kerong
Acclimatize in Kerong before further driving. Free afternoon look around. O/n at Guest house.
Day 03:
Drive Kerong to Saga/4450m – 232 km
First day with a long drive on the desert terrain. Driving past nomad camps and sheep and yak herds. We can see Gaurishankar, Shishapangma and Langtang Himal from the pass. Continue drive through Khunmen Tso, Sinling, Karru Ongchen and Peiku tso Lake (4400m). We will be crossing river Brahmaputra ( “Yarling Tsangpo” in Tibetan ) to reach Saga (4600m). O/n in guest house.
Day 04:
Saga to Paryang (4558m) to Mansarovar (4600m) 507 km 8-9 hrs
Watching the mountains in distance and driving through road we pass through the small town of Zhongba before reaching to Paryang.. Offering the first view of mt Kailash and the holy lake only after several hours of drive. As you approach this serene and sacred lake, historic Chiu Monastery becomes visible on the North West shore of the lake. From this vantage point, you can have a glimpse of majestic Mount Kailash. Manasarovar , the highest fresh water lake with turquoise complexion – surrounded by mt Kailash, Mt. Gurula-Mandata and Lake Rakchyas is simply heavenly. O/n at Guesthouse.
Day 05:
Drive to Darchen (4565m) 40km
After some peaceful hours at the shores of the sacred Lake Manasarovar with the snowy massif of Gurla Mandhata 7694m just across the lake, we drive 40 km to Darchen which serves as the base for Mt kailashkora(circumambulation). The Kora (trek around Mt Kailash) is 53 km in total and completed in three days trekking. O/n in a Guest house.
Day 06:
(1st day of Trek) – Trek to Dira Puk-5000m
It is one of the exciting days walking along the beautiful rocky cliffs and waterfalls with some clouds in the clear blue sky. The 15 km trail takes almost 7 hrs. O/n at Guest house.
Day 07:
(2nd day of Trek) – Trek Dira Puk > Zuthul Puk, 18km, 6-7 hrs, 550m ascent, 600m descent.
Hardest but Holiest day of your pilgrimage trek , cross Dolma La pass at 5670 m. Once you reach the top, just do the holiest offering and sit down for meditation to forget you. By the late afternoon you will arrive at Zuthul Puk where the great ascetic Milerappa is supposed to have performed miracles. O/N at local guest house.
Day 08:
(3rd day of Trek) – End of Kora/Trek around Mt Kailash(Kailash Parikrama) and drive to Saga
Complete the kora and drive to Lake Manasarovar to Saga. O/N at Guest House.
Day 09:
Drive back to Kerong – O/N at Guest House
Day 10:
Kerong to Kathmandu (150 km)
FLY IN & FLY OUT - 12 Days
Day 01:
Kathmandu (1,300m) to Lhasa (3,650m)
Departure Transport to Tribhuban Airport and Trans – Himalayan flight to Tibet (Gongaar airport) (1hr.) Drive to Lhasa (1hr.) – Full rest for acclimatization – O/N at Hotel.
Day 02:
In Lhasa: Full Day Sightseeing Tour In Lhasa/ Acclimatization
Visit Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple & Barkhor Bazaar – O/N at Hotel.
Day 03:
Drive Lhasa – Shigatse (350 km – 8/9 hrs).
After breakfast in your hotel drive to Shigatse which is the 2nd largest city of Tibet. Built in 1447 by the first Dalai lama the Tashilampo Monastery in Shigatse is a very important monastery in Tibet as it is known as seat of the Panchan Lama O/N at Hotel.
Day 04:
Drive Shigatse – Saga (450km – 9 hrs)
We start an early morning drive to Saga, please note this will be a long drive but on the way we can make enough stop and lunch. O/N at Local Guest House.
Day 05:
Drive Saga – Lake Manasarovar (410km – 8 hrs)
This is an auspicious day for all of us having first glimpse of the Holy lake Manasarovar and view of Mt. Kailash from The Horr Chu pass. Stay in Chiu Gompa, O/N at Guest House.
Day 06:
Lake Manasarover to Darchen (4600m) – 53km
Visit Chiu Gompa and explore Lake Mnasarover then drive to Darchen. Preparation day for the Kora O/N at Local Guest House.
Day 07:
Darchen to Derapuk (4750m) 19km
Drive to Serchung and start Kora ( trek) to Depapuk O/N at Local Guest House.
Day 08:
Derakuk – Dolmala (5620m) – Zutulpuk – 20km
Continue trek to Zutulphul cross over dolma- la Pass O/N at Local Guest House.
Day 09:
Zutulphuk to Darchen to Saga
Finish third day of Kailash kora and reach at Saga. Trek about 10 Km to the point and take your transportation to drive back Saga via Darchen O/N at Guest House.
Day 10:
Saga to Shigatse
Scenic drive back to Shigatse O/N at Hotel.
Day 11:
Shigatse to Lhasa
Drive back to Lhasa from Shigatse and transfer to Hotel.
Day 12:
Departure
Fly back to Kathmandu
